Parent Satisfaction Survey Results Academic Year 2022 - 2023
Each year we carry out an annual parent satisfaction survey to help us improve our understanding of how we are performing in key areas — such as what we are doing well and areas where we can improve— so that we can continue to provide the best possible educational experience for your child(ren).
This year’s survey, concluded at the end of January 2023, was completed by over 400 BVIS families, giving a very credible 50% response rate. These results, along with our recent CIS Reaccreditation Report recommendations and continuous guidance and review with Nord Anglia’s Education team, enable us to create a thorough improvement and development plan for our school.
This year’s survey included a new 5-point scale with an updated and hopefully easier to understand rephrasing of old questions. These improvements allow us to better understand how satisfied parents are with our school’s educational offer, helping us to further strategically plan for the future and optimise student support and outcomes. Above all, it is pleasing that well over 90% of parents think that their child is challenged, safe, happy, healthy and making good progress at BVIS.
- 94% of families think that their child feels safe at school
- 92% of families think that the school provides a stimulating learning environment
- 91% of families think that their child is happy at school
- 91% of families think that the school promotes healthy lifestyles to their child
- 90% of families think that their children are making good progress at school
- 90% of families think that their children are making good progress in learning English
- 89% of families think that their child receives a quality education from the school
- 89% of families think that their child’s teacher has a good relationship with their child and encourages high academic achievement
- 87% of families were happy with the responses they received contacting school
This year, parents were asked for the first time to tell us about which social and personal skills they thought our school develops in our students - the top 5 were identified as:
- Confidence
- Independence
- Creativity
- Global Awareness
- Wellbeing
Again, these are an outstanding set of results for our school and ones that our staff and wider community should be extremely proud of. In addition, it is important to note that when compared to both Global and Regional NAE data, our school’s results remain significantly higher across all areas which is again, very pleasing to read.
Of course, there were some areas from the survey that we will continue to prioritise within our school development planning, both this year and beyond. These include:
- Further developing more opportunities to improve parental awareness of and participation in our Nord Anglia Education programmes such as: Global Campus, Global Expeditions, Juilliard Performing Arts and UNICEF
- Further developing and upgrading our classrooms and additional teaching spaces
- Further developing our Music and IT learning spaces
- Utilising and enhancing our outdoor social and play spaces
Once again, thank you for your continued support of our school. Your feedback is invaluable, always well respected and will be fed directly into our school’s short, medium and long-term strategic planning.
Our BVIS team will continue to use your feedback, to help ensure that we continue to deliver an outstanding international bilingual education and learning experiences like no other for your child(ren) at BVIS.
