BVIS HCMC's Outstanding IGCSE & A Level Exams Results 2018 - 2019!

We would like to congratulate BVIS HCMC’s students on their outstanding A Level and IGCSE results in academic year 2018-2019!

IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) Results 

Our students in Years 10 and 11 are entered for the Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE. Grades are awarded by Cambridge International Examinations and Edexcel on a scale from A* to G.

• An amazing 42% of all our grades were A* or A
• 89% of students received at least 5 A*-C grades overall
• Nearly 80% of students received at least 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths, the standard expected across the world for many careers

A Level Results 

Our students in Years 12 and 13 are entered for Cambridge International Examinations and Edexcel International AS and International A levels. Passing grades are awarded by the examination boards on the scale A-E for International AS level, and A*-E for International A level.

At A Level:

• 24% of grades were A*-A
• 50% of all A level grades were A*-B
• 64% of all grades were at C grade or above
• 8% of the grades achieved were A* grades

We also especially congratulate those students below for their individual phenomenal achievements:

• Ho Chau Kiet attained 7A* grades and 2 As at IGCSE
• Lam Thuy Hien, Ngo Thanh Nha and Tran Ngoc Que Nhien all attained 100% A or A* grades at A level

Our 6th form graduates can now focus on the next chapter of their academic lives using their promising A Level results to secure their placements at the very top universities worldwide. 

The value of A levels is nicely summed up by Stuart Schmill the Dean of Admissions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, currently the top ranked university in the world, who writes: "Students who have taken A Levels do very well at our campus.  They are very well-prepared for our curriculum and we find that they have a lot of confidence, but also that they have a good deep subject knowledge, and the ability to think critically and well.”
