CELEBRATING 15 YEARS OF BVIS
The 2025–2026 academic year marks the 15th anniversary of the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) — a journey of continuous dedication to the mission of “'Embracing Identity, Shaping the Future.”
The specially created piece “The Heron Who Was Lost at Home” was inspired by BVIS’s 15-year journey. The story conveys a profound message about preserving one’s cultural identity and nurturing the aspiration to reach beyond reflecting the core spirit and values that BVIS has always embraced.

The Lost Heron WHO WAS LOST AT HOME
Meet Lúa a curious young heron whose parents dream of a life for her beyond the river. She’s bringing something truly special, inspired by our 15-year journey in embracing cultural identity while nurturing the drive to go further.
In our eagerness to prepare our children for their future successes, we should ensure they master the home-like traditions, values and skills that ground them. Without these solid roots, they may feel lost, without a sense of where their true home really is.
THE STORY BEHIND THE FOUNDING OF BVIS
On the occasion of our school’s 15th anniversary, Phuong Anh, a Year 12 student at BVIS, had a meaningful conversation with Mr. Maurice Nguyen, one of the two Founders of the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) Ho Chi Minh City.
