As you know, our Year 13 students get some incredible offers from some of the top colleges and universities across the world. To help families understand the US system further, we will be running a series of workshop in partnership with universities and hope many of you will be able to attend.

Yesterday nearly 50 students from primary took part in the Hanoi 'Big Sing' event. A great time was had by all and a huge congratulations to all the students and staff for your efforts in representing BVIS so well at this annual event.

I am very pleased to see that we have students now signing up for our first ever senior student summer school. We hope many more will sign up and benefit from the program.

I wish you all a very relaxing weekend ahead.

Learning how people live
F2 visited the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to explore a range of traditional homes and house types.
This experience supported their learning from The Three Little Pigs, helping them to understand different types of houses, the materials used to build them, and how people live in different communities.

Bringing Order to Their Writing
Year 1 can now confidently organise ideas using sequencing adverbs such as first, next, then, now, and finally. Through an engaging speaking and listening headbands game, pupils practised applying these words aloud and in writing—resulting in clearer, more structured sentences and improved storytelling.

Participating with enthusiasm
Maths becomes so much fun and engaging through outdoor hands-on activities. The Year 2 students are excited to discuss and participate with great enthusiasm.

Stronger Together: Building Comprehension Through Collaboration
Working in pairs, Year 3 pupils confidently develop teamwork and communication skills while staying actively engaged in their learning. By supporting one another to grasp key ideas, they achieve stronger reading comprehension outcomes. This collaborative approach transforms a challenging skill into an enjoyable and successful shared experience.

Bringing Learning to Life: Drama, Communication and Conservation
Year 4 confidently deepened their understanding of texts through drama and role-play, strengthening speaking and communication skills. In IPC, they demonstrated secure knowledge of rhino conservation and Vietnam’s natural environment by accurately recording key information on maps.

Living Our Values: Fair Play in Action
Year 5 confidently demonstrate fair play, cooperation, and kindness, applying these values consistently in the playground through positive teamwork at break and lunch times.

Ready for Secondary: Presenting, Listening and Synthesising Knowledge
Year 6 are confidently developing advanced communication skills by preparing and delivering presentations as experts on different aspects of the UK. They are also strengthening active listening and note-taking skills, using gathered information to produce detailed fact files—demonstrating readiness for more independent learning in secondary school.

University Visits
Over the next few weeks, we will be running 3 workshops for parents around the US Higher Education System

- Tuesday 31st March 10.30am – California Based Universities

Music Performances
Annual IGCSE and A level performance showcase took place today in the Secondary Auditorium where Year 10, 11 and 12 students performed their solo pieces. This event is to celebrate the successes of all our senior music students at BVIS to perform and share what they have been working on as part of their coursework.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Presentations
On Thursday, all Duke of Edinburgh Award students presented to teachers about their experiences and project work carried out on the assessment expedition earlier this year. Students have been working on these presentations over the last few weeks during ECAs. The presentations are the final stage of this section of the award and once successful will pass their Adventurous Journey section, this will leave students with their volunteering, skills and physical sections to finish off before fully completing the award.
