The school was awash with the colour blue as we celebrated Universal Children's Day – a day recognised globally each year to promote and celebrate children's rights.

Today we left our school uniforms at home and came to school dressed in a fabulous array of batik clothing to celebrate National Batik Day (Hari Batik Nasional) which is celebrated each year on October 2.

Gaining independence is an important aspect in Early Years. Children need to gain confidence in their own abilities and develop a willingness to try to do new things. In gaining independence children also acquire a sense of importance and belonging. They also learn how to tidy up which in turn teaches them to care for their belongings and the environment.

It was a great opportunity for Eagle class to see some amazing photographs in the 2019 World Press Photo Exhibition at Erasmus Huis.

NAS Jakarta proudly initiated and hosted the first “Going Green Teach Meet’ on Sunday 22 September.
