SIXTH FORM AT NAS ABU DHABI

Our Sixth Form gives students the academic challenge, individual guidance, and wider experiences they need to prepare for university and life beyond school. Students currently choose from 26 A Level subjects, supported by specialist teachers and a strong university guidance programme.

Looking ahead, we’re working towards expanding our Sixth Form pathways, with the aim of offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) from August 2028, subject to IB authorisation.

A Sixth Form pathway for every ambition

Our Sixth Form currently offers A Levels, a highly respected qualification recognised by leading universities around the world. A Levels allow students to focus in depth on the subjects that best match their strengths and interests. Students typically choose three or four subjects, giving them the opportunity to focus deeply on the areas that interest them and support their future plans.

As our Sixth Form continues to grow, we’re working towards adding another pathway.  NAS Abu Dhabi is now a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and is pursuing authorisation to offer the programme. The first IBDP cohort is anticipated to begin in August 2028, subject to successful authorisation.

The IBDP would sit alongside our established A Level pathway, giving future students greater choice in how they approach their final two years of school. Both routes offer academic challenge and strong preparation for university and careers – allowing studentsto choose the pathway that best fits their strengths, interests, and plans for the future.

‘Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy, a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi believes is important for our students.’

LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

DEVELOPING THE SKILLS TO SUCCEED

Some of the most valuable Sixth Form experiences happen beyond lessons. Alongside their academic studies, our students take on leadership roles, gain workplace experience, attend university programmes, hear from visiting experts, and pursue interests through sport, creativity, service, and enrichment.

These experiences give students the chance to test their interests in the real world. They build confidence, independence, and a clearer sense of the direction they want to take after Year 13– and sometimes discover possibilities they hadn't considered before.

A SPACE OF THEIR OWN

Sixth Form students have their own dedicated centre for independent study, group work, and time together between lessons – giving them greater independence while keeping them connected to the wider school community.

Students also have access to specialist science laboratories, creative spaces, sports facilities, technology, and the wider resources of our Al Reem Island campus.

READY FOR WHAT COMES NEXT

The final years of school are when possibilities start becoming decisions. Our university guidance team works closely with each student as they explore courses, universities, and careers, helping them understand their options and make choices with confidence.

By the time our students leave NAS Abu Dhabi, we want them to be ready for more than their next qualification – we want them ready to make the most of what comes after it.
