Principal's update (17/4 - 21/4)

Dear Parents

1. Secondary Music Competition

This week I had the enormous pleasure of attending the Secondary School music competition. We have some phenomenal talent in our school that was on display on Thursday evening. Congratulations to everyone who competed in the competition.

2. Secondary award assembly

At the end of last week, the Secondary school presented academic achievement awards in their assembly. It was pleasing to see so many students who have excelled in their studies and received awards. Well done everyone.

3. Year 13's Photo Day

Last weekend our Year 13 students were driven around the city to have some photo shoots taken as part of their preparation for graduation and leaving BVIS. I look forward to seeing all the photographs in due course.

4. School emergency system & procedures testing

As you are aware we take the safety and security of your children very seriously. Starting last week and continuing for a few weeks, we will be fully testing all our emergency systems and procedures, including evacuation and lockdown. We will also be practices these important procedures at differing times of the day and at under differing conditions to ensure we have practiced all eventualities in case it is ever needed.

5. Experience Day Highlights

We were delighted to host and speak with many prospective EYFS, Primary and Secondary parents at our school experience sessions this week. We had the highest number of attendees at the school for a very long time and this bodes well for the school.

6. World Book Day Highlights

In the past 2 weeks, we have celebrated World Book Day with many exciting activities. I hope that our students will continue the reading culture and broaden their knowledge with books. Thank you to all students, teachers and staff who were involved in hosting the event.
