Teaching
Classroom instruction, supervision, and in-school workshops
Meal Plan
Pre-Nursery through Year 11 enrollment packages include the Meal Plan.
Enrollment packages for Years 12 and 13 do not include the Meal Plan, BUT parents and guardians can opt-in their child. Contact the Finance Department for details.

Assessment Costs
IB Diploma examinations, IGCSEs and Cognitive Ability Tests.
Supplies and Resources
Exercise books; the loan of textbooks, supplies, educational materials, and documentation; 1-1 access to iPads for Years 3-6 in-school and 1-1 tablet or laptop access in-school for Years 7-13; subscriptions and educational memberships; and yearbook
Trips
Whole-year local field trips (Years 7-11) and an environmental service trip (Year 12); single event/day field trips, additional activities, and school-run after-school activities
2026-27 Registration and Enrollment Fees
Application Fee — $190
This is a non-refundable fee.
Enrollment Deposit — $2,000
This deposit is due each year to secure enrollment or re-enrollment.
It becomes an advance tuition payment subtracted from a later tuition payment.
New Enrollment Fee — $2,700
This one-time fee contributes to important capital enhancements at the British International School of Washington.
It is non-refundable and in addition to the tuition schedule
This fee is due only before the first year of enrollment only.
Refundable Security Deposit — $1,000
This fee covers any loss or damage
It is due the first year of enrollment to the secondary school
