Last week on Monday and Tuesday, a talented group of students performed 'A Doll’s House' by Henrik Ibsen to over 120 members of our community. After the triumph of Hobson’s Choice last year, this year the drama was set in 19th century Norway.

In Hungarian Literature lessons, the Year 6 have been reading János vitéz; a piece of narrative poetry. Last week students had the chance to write a letter in the name of the main character, Jancsi, to his beloved Iluska who he had to leave behind in their village.

We have introduced a new intuitive and easy to use online booking system to make appointments with teachers which will commence in Term 2 (January 2019).

The BISB community took on the nutty knitting challenge of knitting scarves for a local kindergarten and homeless shelter During Term 1. This task was undertaken by Primary and Secondary students, staff and parents. Students met weekly with teachers to learn how to knit. For some it was a real challenge and they had to persevere!

Last week two of our IB students, Epameinondas Tosounis (Nondas) and Illya Ovchar from Year 12 together with Ildiko Toth took part in an international forum in the European Youth Centre with Budapest Bike Maffia. Ildiko was invited to organise a Vitamin commando and lead a workshop on “The importance of volunteering in creative projects for social responsibility”.

The U19 Volleyball season 2018 culminated last Friday and Saturday with the European Nord Anglia Sport Association Tournament hosted by the British International School Budapest. Players from schools in five countries, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary and the spectators witnessed 28 games of exciting volleyball.

Year 10 IGCSE Art students are working on Natural Forms charcoal drawings in response to photographs by German naturalist Karl Blossfeldt. The drawings show the fantastic progress their drawing skills have made since September. Look out for them displayed around the school!

Last Sunday, Mr Dyer and Miss Ford travelled to Kakucs to watch one of our Sixth Form students engage in her passion - motorsport! Annamaria Abari in Year 13 is a keen driver and has even had her own personal racing car spray-painted and decorated with our school logo.
