For our IB Visual Arts students, the IBVA exhibition symbolises the proud conclusion to two years of creative study and effort

June 2019 saw 8 BIS primary and secondary students join their FOX Football teammates in Thailand for the Bangkok Supercup!

It was an early start on Saturday morning for nearly 50 students and 30 adults from across our BIS community as we held our first ever BIS Triathlon.

This year’s Junior Summer Concert was a wonderful event, with the theme ‘Music Makes the World Go Round’, and featuring music from different cultures around the world.

In May, our Year 9 students embarked on their service-learning Expedition Week, travelling overseas to Borneo.

Dear parents, From the BIS Grand Prix to Fold n’ Fly and a special PTG Quiz our week has been characterised by events that have enabled students of all ages to collaborate and learn, even compete with one another. It was a great pleasure to welcome parents of our new Year 7 students to the campus on Wednesday and also to offer an especially warm welcome to those parents who will be joining BIS for the first time as Year 7 parents in August. Our Night of the Arts was a tremendous showcase of performance and creativity and was a further highlight of another memorable week.

BIS HCMC rated as an “outstanding school in all categories”, an accolade that very few schools around the world have been able to achieve.

The much celebrated FOBISIA Primary Games, took place in Phuket, Thailand, last week.

These last two weeks have been very exciting for Year 3 as they had the opportunity to hear two doctors speak.

At the beginning of the academic year, the production club began and consisted of children from Year 3-6.

Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) teachers work closely with class teachers to support our EAL students.

The BIS Barracudas competed in the ISHCMC Invitational on the 11th and 12th of May.

On Monday and Tuesday our A and B Team Basketballers made the trip over to AMIS school and Canadian International School for the annual SISAC basketball competition.

International Learn to Swim Week is an annual event conducted in countries all over the world.

Year 12 Geographers, Biologists and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) students had the excellent opportunity to consolidate their classroom learning about coastal systems and ecology on their recent field trip to Con Dao.

BIS HCMC are visited by a true ‘global citizen’ who has an exhilarating story of determination and perseverance to share with our Year 5 and 6 students.

When beginning a new topic we focus on the ‘knowledge’ element of the International Primary Curriculum. Doing a ‘knowledge harvest’ means that we can respond to children’s ideas and misconceptions accurately. By finding out what children already know, we can identify next steps. The ‘Entry Point’ is always an engaging and memorable kinesthetic experience in which children are immersed in a new topic.

It only seems like yesterday that all the children were walking through the school gate on the first day of the year and now we have started term three and there are only 7 weeks left of school!

On Thursday 11th April a wonderful event happened that not only bought all of our parents together from each campus, but also raised money for an important long term BIS community partner.
