In our Virtual School Experience (VSE), we value the importance of well-being and understand that it is closely related to academic success.

The global pandemic has impacted every inch of society and will forever remain a period that brought about significant challenges for us all.

For many families, the first Nord Anglia school their child joins is only the beginning of their international education journey. In this blog we are interviewing Anne, a parent within the Nord Anglia community, who shares the experience of her family and their relocations around the world.

Each year, towards the end of term, BIS Primary students participate in an assessment week to support the teacher’s judgement of student attainment over the year. This year, it has moved online and for the last two weeks, our teachers and teaching assistants have been extremely busy carrying out individual student assessments, the results of which will be shared with you in the student reports soon.

This is the “Meet the Teacher” series in which BIS Hanoi teachers share about their passion and commitment for teaching. Let’s meet our first teacher of the series: Ms. Holly Carmichael and explore her interesting story at BIS Hanoi as well as get to know her more as a person.

Prior to the students returning to school, the teachers worked in year group teams to review and update the unit themes, ensuring they are relevant and exciting for our students at BIS Hanoi.

At BIS Hanoi, we get our young learners actively involved in the classroom. For instance, Year 3 students had the opportunity to learn about the typical breakfast in Spain and also the one in France.

At BIS Hanoi we aim to make sure that every History classroom is one that is built with both high ceilings of challenges and solid floors of support.

The value of TOK is therefore not just holistic in developing students’ open-mindedness and communication skills, but also could mean the difference between a student getting their 1st choice university placement, or their backup choice.

This time of year is very important for our Year 13 students. The pressure of final examinations is starting to build and now they have to think about preparing for the next stage of their lives – university.
