At BIS, we want to enrich the students' learning through experiences because, as we know, making connections deepens their understanding.

There are several events coming up in the next few weeks for parents to be aware of, and I wanted to share them with you.

Over the last few weeks, over 40 children from Year 6 have participated in the House Captain selection process.

What an incredible penultimate week of this academic year we have had.

After almost a year in virtual school, being able to finally welcome all the Primary students back to campus has made this the best week of the year so far!

It was fantastic to see, that despite the challenging circumstances, our students continue to make good progress and are showing continued resilience and perseverance.

Ahead of World Children’s Day on November 20th, today BIS Hanoi Primary students took part in an exciting day of events and activities.

What a jam-packed first half-term it has been! I am sure everyone is ready to rest and recharge of our non-screen batteries over the coming half-term break.

Last week was a very exciting week for mathematics at BIS. Students across the Primary School took part in a House Maths competition featuring a variety of different tasks and challenges that the students engaged in across the week.

The final term of Year 6 is very busy and thrilling, but it is also a very emotional time for our students when they begin to bid farewell to their Primary lives and look forward to the start of their Secondary journey. Here at BIS, the Year 6 and 7 teams collaborate to ensure that the transition process helps our students be well prepared for this step up, and that they feel confident, ready and a lot less nervous!

It has been such an exciting first week back for BIS students – IPC learning has gotten off to a super start with a series of thrilling entry points!

Across the Primary School, we have been focusing on the importance of sleep and well being on children’s physical and emotional well-being. We have been working closely with Family Medical Practice and during the month of April they delivered three parent sessions on the importance of sleep in children. The sessions were delivered by Dr. Maria Santos.

As part of our IPC Topic Express Yourself, Year 6 students have been looking at the importance of personal and collective responsibility within our local community.

The school was awash with every colour as books were brought to life by an abundance of incredible costumes. Characters from all genres descended upon the school and there was an energetic buzz around the building.

We feel proud of our students every day at BIS Hanoi; they continue to impress and inspire with their perseverance, respect and drive to succeed. Our teachers ensure that all students are making optimum progress through their delivery of a personalised approach to learning. Academic rigour underpins our approach to teaching and learning but we also deliver a holistic well-rounded education that focuses on developing each individual student emotionally and that develops them as true global citizens.

This week, Year 3 have enjoyed beginning their ‘Save the World - Rainforest’ topic and Year 2 had an exciting entry point into their new topic 'Treasure Island'.

Learning has gone from strength to strength, with an increase in participation from our students but also in terms of the challenges undertaken and the success achieved.

Everybody has been working so hard in Phase 1 this week making each of your teachers feel very proud of the work you are doing at home!

At BIS our teachers are being challenged this week and are re-designing learning to support our students at home. It is new for all of us, but as life-long learners, our teachers are sharing strategies and best practise to ensure our students are still receiving the best possible provision under the circumstances.
