As we celebrate Day of AI this week, learn more about the British International School Hanoi Head of Art & Design Hannah Budd’s experience training with MIT’s world-leading researchers and renowned academics.

The NAE STEAM Festival, which unfolded over two action-packed days, provided an immersive experience into both Vietnamese culture and the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).

Our Year 7 students eagerly embraced the STEAM fair, combining their knowledge from Science, Art, and Design Technology classes to tackle the challenge set by MIT.

Earlier this month, 50 students from Nord Anglia schools around the world, including our representative, Hyeonchan (Year 10), gathered at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for a unique experience that brings to life the MIT-NAE STEAM collaboration.

We're pleased to announce that Hyeonchan (Year 9) and Xinyue (Year 11) has been selected as entrants for the 2023 MIT student challenge.

Six of our students team up for this year's STEAM festival and they showed great creativity to solve the STEAM challenge they were tasked with.

This term, Year 6 have been working on completing their entries for the first of this year’s MIT Challenges. The challenge requires students to design something to help astronauts eat, play sport, or do exercise more easily when they are in space. The lack of gravity in space means that eating a bowl of noodles is almost impossible, the soup and the noodles would be floating all over the space craft.

At BIS Hanoi, we are very lucky to have a unique collaboration with MIT, the world's leading technology University. This term has seen MIT launched their “Into the Void” challenges, focused around Space exploration. These challenges are a great way to get our students interested in the world of STEAM and see how what they design and make today can influence the world of tomorrow.

The STEAM Week at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) saw more than 100 Nord Anglia students getting immersed in the university's culture of "Mind and Hand" by thinking through new concepts and working together to solve problems.
