Supported by Nord Anglia Education’s Social Impact Grants, projects such as Hope Thread and The PatchWork Project focus on wellbeing, inclusion, and creating opportunities for young people to connect and grow.

BIS Hanoi have received funding from Nord Anglia’s community investment fund to support two student-led social impact projects called “Hope Thread” and “The PatchWork Project”.

BIS Hanoi students led the Chalk Road project in Tuyen Quang, bringing workshops, books, and resources to support inclusive education.

On December 13, 32 passionate volunteers from Chalk Road, led by our Year 12 students, Gia Khanh, Thai Anh, and Khanh Linh, returned to Thanh Kim Primary and Secondary Schools with immense excitement and purpose.

On August 9th and 10th, led by Pham Bui Gia Khanh, Nguyen Khanh Linh, and Hoang Thai Anh (now in Year 12 at BIS Hanoi), the Chalk Road project team, consisting of 23 members who are high school students from BIS Hanoi and various schools in the city, successfully organised a series of extracurricular activities with the theme "Connect to Empower" for 1,400 students at Thanh Kim Primary and Secondary School in Thanh Hoa Province.

With a strong commitment to social purpose, Nord Anglia Education schools are leading the way in Hanoi, creating sustainable social impact initiatives to improve the lives of the country’s most disadvantaged.

New round of funding from Nord Anglia Education supports our students’ efforts to take actions on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Our BIS Hanoi members came together on Sunday, November 5th, to participate in the BritCham Fun Run event, and the sight was truly incredible. 

In July, Pham Bui Gia Khanh (Year 11) with other Year 11s, Nguyen Khanh Linh, and Hoang Thai Anh launched their first activity of Chalk Road project, a student-led project dedicated to fostering holistic and sustainable education.

To be involved in a meaningful project and create a real impact on the lives of others is a pledge we are happy to make.

It was incredible to see over 200 BIS Hanoi members joining the BritCham Fun Run event on Sunday, November 13th.

This time of year again finds our Year 12 students busier than ever with their CAS projects. Many interesting initiatives have been launched and are looking very promising.

As part of their CAS project, our Year 13 students taught our primary pupils about the importance of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (or Global Goals).

On September 25th, a group of Secondary students from BIS Hanoi launched a music documentary titled ‘Darkness to Light’ as part of their community project called 'Silver Lining'.

Making a difference in people’s lives is extremely important to our school community. Staff, students and parents at BIS are committed to supporting others through a variety of charity activities. Last year, we launched Share A Dream, a social platform that empowers our school to effect social change and channel this goodwill into a practical tool for change.

This morning, our students across Primary and Secondary came to school in their casual outfits to support the Tet Shoeboxes Project in exchange for donations.

On Tuesday 1 December, we welcomed friend of the school, Defence Attaché, Bea Walcott to the British International School Hanoi.

A fortnight of acts of remembrance closed today with a powerful online assembly at BIS Hanoi. Planned by history teachers, Victoria Black and Sophie Peters, and recorded and performed by students, the assembly was extraordinary in its depth and quality.

On Friday 30th October, your child will have the privilege of wearing a Halloween outfit on the day in return for a charitable donation. We have already suggested 30,000 VND as a donation but any further donations are much needed and would be much appreciated by those affected.
