Students at St Andrews International School Bangkok have begun an exciting artificial intelligence project: integrating Nord Anglia’s “Misty the Robot” with conversational AI model, ChatGPT. Under the guidance of our Head of Robotics, Mr Rob Parker, they recently presented their results to Regional Managing Director, Mr Shaun Williams, as well as the Board of Directors at St Andrews, with the proposition of growing this project as a collaborative research venture across Nord Anglia schools.

News Celebrating kindness and community during Friendship Week 2024
From 11th to 15th November, Friendship Week brought our Primary School community together to celebrate kindness and positive connections. Under the theme ‘Choosing Kindness’, students engaged in activities exploring what it means to be a good friend, while PSHE lessons focused on understanding and strengthening friendships. A special assembly for the Foundation Stage highlighted the importance of "kind words, kind hands, and kind feet," and a Parent Workshop provided practical tips for fostering kindness at home.

Student House leaders at St Andrews Bangkok organised an unforgettable Halloween party for Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) students. The event featured a carnival-themed haunted house, games, and live entertainment. With over 300 attendees, the party was a spooktacular success thanks to the collaboration, creativity, and meticulous planning of everyone involved. The night raised over 40,000 THB for charity, creating both lasting memories and a meaningful impact.

Blog Year 12 Culinary Swiss and Mexican adventure
On 11th November 2024, our Year 12 Language B and Ab Initio students in French and Spanish enjoyed cultural trips to immersive restaurants in Bangkok. The French students visited Chesa, a Swiss restaurant, where they sampled authentic dishes like fondue and raclette while practising their language skills. Meanwhile, the Spanish students explored Danzante, a vibrant Mexican restaurant, experiencing traditional cuisine, drinks, and a beautifully decorated Day of the Dead altar, bringing their classroom learning to life.

Blog St Andrews Bangkok High School celebrates Black History Month with creativity and culture
In October, our High School celebrated Black History Month with a series of enriching activities that highlighted the achievements and culture of Black artists. Our Art Department’s album cover project allowed students to showcase their creativity by designing covers for Black musicians, with top entries earning a visit to the Gustav Klimt immersive exhibition. The month also featured a “Celebration of Black Arts” event, hip-hop performances, and a special Afrobeats dance performance at our High School International Day, led by Year 12 students as part of their CAS project, "Heritage and Hope," to promote year-round awareness of Black History.

With the goal of providing meaningful help to the flood victims in the northern regions of Thailand, our entire community at St Andrews Bangkok came together to raise funds and donations for the affected families. In the span of a few short weeks, added to donations of food and clothing, we managed to raise an astounding total of 386,676.50 THB in donation funds. To all students, teachers, parents, and staff who participated in our efforts and contributed to this cause—thank you!

St Andrews Bangkok proudly hosted the VEX Robotics VIQRC Rapid Relay Tournament, bringing together 56 teams from across Thailand for an exciting day of teamwork and coding challenges. Our student volunteers and staff helped make the event a success, with St Andrews teams achieving impressive results, including a Middle School division win. We look forward to welcoming 100 teams from 13 countries for the upcoming world-qualifying tournament on 23-24 November.
