St Andrews is delighted to announce the opening of its new Primary building this August, marking an exciting milestone in our commitment to delivering exceptional education. Thoughtfully designed for both our youngest learners in Foundation Stage (FS1–FS3) and our upper primary students in Years 5 and 6, the building combines innovative design with a strong educational vision. Ahead of the opening, new families and students were given a special first look at the building, exploring the light-filled classrooms and shared spaces and experiencing firsthand the exciting opportunities it offers.

After careful and thorough assessment by key representatives from the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM), St Andrews International School Bangkok was awarded the IQM Inclusive School Award with Centre of Excellence status. St Andrews is also the first school outside of the UK to hold this award, making this a special achievement in recognition of the exemplary leadership and culture in our school.

At St Andrews International School Bangkok, our priority has always been the wellbeing and happiness of our students. A key factor in ensuring children are happy is building strong relationships with parents. This begins from the earliest visits to our Primary School and is exactly why we host our Open Days.

Year 13 students came over from High School to take a look at the Primary School waterways. The purpose was to create their own projects based on the redevelopments that have taken place at the Primary site over the last year.

We are excited to introduce you to Ms Anna, our fabulous new Primary Music Teacher. From reading music at Cambridge University, consulting for BBC Bitesize, setting up international music teacher training, to musical speeches in front of British politicians in The House of Parliament. Ms Anna’s journey to St Andrews is fascinating and includes a huge range of experiences in all things music.

This week our school will complete and submit to the MOE and OPEC our plan for reopening our school. Once reviewing our opening plans to keep our community safe from COVID-19 infections and inspecting our two campuses, we can then receive approval to open. A Hybrid Model will allow parents to decide where they want their children to learn from safely. To help ease the pressure on the car park, we will be introducing three new secure student drop off zones, as well as expanding and making better use of the current drop off zone. The issue of air quality has, unfortunately, come around a bit earlier this school year … so we review the school air quality policy which is in place at STA.

A new Parent Teacher Group (PTG) Committee was elected at the AGM on 30 May. We thank the outgoing Committee and look forward to working with you as we come to the end of this school year. A reminder that the PTG Summer Party takes place on Friday 14 June 2019 from 6.00 p.m. until late, at the O’zKool Bar in the ACMEN Ekamai Complex.
