We are proud to introduce our new Principal, Niki Meehan. Niki has a wealth of experience in education and leadership and we are all looking forward to working with her to take PBIS to the next level. Here is a little about her and her background.

Students at Prague British International School, part of the global Nord Anglia Education family of schools, are celebrating after receiving their IGCSE results today. Our summer of great academic success continues!

Our summer of academic success continues at PBIS with fantastic PEARSON BTEC results following on from the strong IB grades last month.

Our students have achieved beyond their expectations with a record 36 Average Point Score and 100% pass rate. Whilst the global IB average has also risen this year to 32.99, our result continues to widen the gap when compared with other IB schools around the world. This result also showcases the difference that Nord Anglia Education schools bring to students’ academic results.

Our high standards of teaching make us a leading international school in the Czech Republic. We are committed to helping your child excel. PBIS prepares students to succeed, whatever they choose to do.

Students in Libuš had the opportunity to visit the UN Office in Prague. Michal Broza, the Officer in Charge, gave our students a talk on the work of the UN and some of the biggest global issues it is currently dealing with. The students discussed the effects of climate change and their role in advocating for sustainability.

We asked some students a few questions about PBIS. Find out what they think!

Nord Anglia Education and UNICEF have entered into a new, three-year global partnership that will help support UNICEF to further develop learning materials on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and help Nord Anglia students gain the knowledge and skills required to make positive change within their communities.

It was the aim of the Outside Exhibition to challenge students to think and be creative during the lockdown period. Little did we know that the lockdown would last as long as it did, and so, therefore, the meaning behind this exhibition grew to a much higher importance.

In children, there is a direct link between how they feel and how they behave: they feel good-they behave well, they feel bad-they behave badly. Some aggression is normal and even healthy (especially these days) and not necessarily bad but aggressive behavior in children can also be a symptom of many different underlying problems.

Our music team competed in the European Music Live! Festival, winning six of the twenty competition categories. The three-day festival allowed our musicians to perform and compete in front of a live audience again and we are so proud of the way in which they rehearsed, participated, and supported each other throughout. They also had the chance to mix virtually with students from the other seven schools, in workshops and the Big Music Quiz.

Three of our Vlastina secondary school teachers were recognised with global Nord Anglia Education teaching awards this week, as a result of their work creating high quality projects that are now shared with 70 schools worldwide.

Vlastina has received 2nd Green Flag award from Eco-Schools/Ekoškola in recognition of our Eco-Schools journey. To earn the Green Flag Award they have been following the seven elements of the programme for another two years.

November 2020 was to be a time when NAE European Schools came together to celebrate the performing arts with a festival in Prague of collaborative performances combining dance, drama, and music.

On Thursday 17 September, Sofia K., a year 13 student from our Libus campus, shared her perspective on important global issues in a United Nations Voluntary National Review (VNR). Sofia was asked by UNICEF to share some key messages with governments and other decision-makers who are currently developing national plans to implement the SDGs.
