Students in Libuš had the opportunity to visit the UN Office in Prague. Michal Broza, the Officer in Charge, gave our students a talk on the work of the UN and some of the biggest global issues it is currently dealing with. The students discussed the effects of climate change and their role in advocating for sustainability.

In children, there is a direct link between how they feel and how they behave: they feel good-they behave well, they feel bad-they behave badly. Some aggression is normal and even healthy (especially these days) and not necessarily bad but aggressive behavior in children can also be a symptom of many different underlying problems.

Our music team competed in the European Music Live! Festival, winning six of the twenty competition categories. The three-day festival allowed our musicians to perform and compete in front of a live audience again and we are so proud of the way in which they rehearsed, participated, and supported each other throughout. They also had the chance to mix virtually with students from the other seven schools, in workshops and the Big Music Quiz.

It was great to see so many students and parents interested in our IGCSE, IB and BTEC Options. We were showcasing our curriculum as well as exciting new developments to support students’ learning journey. Our Libuš Campus was open the whole evening and events took place throughout the campus. Students and parents attended talks and visited subject classrooms to engage with current students and teachers.

Over the last year, Prague British International School has been working on developing the fitness area at its Libuš campus. On Friday 17th January Vladimír Šmicer, the former Czech International football player, cut the ribbon to officially open the Fitness Suite and Active Zone.

As part of Nord Anglia Education’s collaboration with UNICEF, students across the globe have been raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through projects at their schools. The SDGs are a collection of 17 goals set by the United Nations regarding social and economic development issues.

More than 150 parents and staff gathered for the annual PBIS Burns Night on Friday. Guests were greeted by a (rather cold) piper and then enjoyed an evening of Scottish food, drink, poetry, song and dance all in honour of the 18th century Scottish poet, Robert Burns.
