On 25 May, a group of Grade 10 Northbridge International School Cambodia students hosted ten pupils supported by NGO CHOICE Cambodia to a trip to Phnom Penh Safari World.

Last weekend officially marked the end of Season 3 and the 2018-2019 athletic year. Our Northbridge International School Cambodia Junior Volleyball teams traveled to Ho Chi Minh City to complete in the ASAC tournament hosted by ISHCMC. Overall both teams ended the season with the same records only losing to two opponents all season.

On May 4 and 11, a group of nine Northbridge International School Cambodia students from Grade 10 and 11 started their project of designing an activity room for The Rabbit School students studying at Toul Kork Primary School.

This year, Northbridge International School Cambodia students in Primary school have enjoyed a variety of trips and experiences to enhance their learning. Educational field trips are an important part of the school’s overall co- and extra-curricular program. They play an integral role in students’ learning and we are committed to finding new and engaging places to visit as well as inviting people in to speak to our students so that their understanding can deepen regarding a particular topic or issue.

Last weekend the Northbridge International School Cambodia Nagas Swim Team travelled to International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC) to compete at this year’s Invitational Swim Meet 2019.

As an international school, Northbridge International School Cambodia values the rich diversity that different languages and cultures bring to an educational community. The EAL department supports English language learners as they acquire the level of English needed to communicate effectively in social situations at school and be academically successful in their classes.

Following a visit and assessment by a team of four educational professionals from 10-14 March 2019 and a subsequent review by their Accrediting Commission for Schools, Northbridge International School Cambodia has been reaccredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges until 2025.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that students from Northbridge International School Cambodia will once again have the opportunity to travel to Switzerland as part of Nord Anglia Education’s Switzerland Trekking Expedition programme.

Four carefully selected students from Northbridge International School Cambodia Grades 5 and 6 were invited to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston for the 2019 STEAM Week. Bella and Raina in Grade 5 and Nita and Jemma in Grade 6 travelled with Ms Miri for over 24 hours to attend this event.

Northbridge International School Cambodia students who are entering the Diploma Programme (Grades 11 and 12) in the 2019 academic year will have 4 new Mathematic courses to select from. These new courses reflect the exciting changes that are happening in the Mathematics department as a result of DP courses undergoing a curriculum review over a seven-year cycle.

The Northbridge International School Cambodia Parent Council meets at 8am every first Tuesday of each month in the hub boardroom. The dates are marked in the school calendar. The Individuals and Societies Department at Northbridge International School Cambodia would like to congratulate our Grade 12 students on all of their hard work during this final year of high school. You have pushed yourselves hard to reach this point in your education, and you should be very proud of the successes that you have already accomplished.

In April, I had the privilege of traveling to Sydney and Melbourne to visit some of the universities and catch up with some of our former Northbridge International School Cambodia students. Having a chance to catch up with them over a meal, or coffee was a great opportunity to get the inside story of what life in Australia is like for a NISC student.

On Wednesday 1 May, Northbridge International School Cambodia held a Transition from PYP to MYP 2019 Parent information Session.

With current Northbridge International School Cambodia Head of Secondary Mr Ben Holman moving to a new post within our Nord Anglia Education family of schools from the beginning of next academic year, we look forward to welcoming his replacement Ms Frances Morton, who joins us in August 2019.
