The Northbridge International School Cambodia Student Council (STUCO) consists of members who are not only willing to lead the student body but who believe that small actions impact our community. More than a leadership badge, STUCO is a service. Their purpose is not limited to representing the student body during board meetings and leading assemblies, there is much more our students do to provide the best service to the school.

Grade 8 design students are currently researching toys and looking at questions such as, 'What makes a toy popular?', 'What innovations have taken place over time?' and more. This is because the Grade 8 students will be making toys for some very special clients, Northbridge International School Cambodia Kindergarten students!

Firstly I would like to congratulate our Nagas Swim Team at Northbridge International School Cambodia after a great performance in the recent home swim meet. A lot of parents and students are looking for their passion, and swimming is a lovely and comfortable activity to consider. It could be suitable for all of us. Let me describe it.

Every year, Northbridge International School Cambodia is fortunate to have universities visit from all over the world. They come from Europe, Asia, North America and Australia in the first semester and then the United Kingdom tends to be more of a focus in semester two.

Calculating is just one of the many skills that students must learn in order to be great maths learners. At Northbridge International School Cambodia, because we teach the IB curriculum, our students learn through an inquiry approach where they ask questions, wonder and explore different pathways - and this doesn’t stop as we enter the maths classroom.

This past weekend, Saturday 14 September, Northbridge International School Cambodia held the first ISSAPP competitive swim meet of the year. The Nagas came out in full force with an excellent day of swimming.

There is abundant research that links student success with parent involvement. However, as with all things this sits on a spectrum that varies from showing an interest to actively attending school events and parent teacher conferences. At Northbridge International School Cambodia we would like parents to remain engaged in their child's education as they continue their journey through the Secondary school chapter of their life.

Reading is the basis of so much of our learning at Northbridge International School Cambodia, and is essential for success, both academically and in the wider world. We want to equip our children with the foundational skills to allow them to be able to learn in a transdisciplinary way.

Nothing resonates more closely with those values than the incredible work our students lead as part of their Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and Service as Action (SA) projects.

As well as working at Northbridge International School Cambodia, I’m also a parent, and I know how hard it is to establish a routine at home. So hard, that I often ask myself if routines are really necessary. It’s so easy to go with the flow! But is this really best for our children, or do routines help them?

Students in the IB programs are busy students and at Northbridge International School Cambodia we are no different. In fact I would venture to say with our great school culture and community our students are even busier! What with not only classroom school work but also the great CAS opportunities we offer and the large array of sports, that all students want to be involved in. This being the case, time management is crucial for our students.
