Inspired by A Long Walk to Water, our 5th graders were moved to make a difference for children in need. Through teamwork, creativity, and dedication, they organized fundraisers, shared their mission with the school community, and raised over $45,000 to build a school and water well in Honduras. Their hard work and determination show that even young students can create meaningful change, providing children with access to education, clean water, and hope for a brighter future.

Breaking into the music industry is no small feat, but with the right mindset and skill set, aspiring musicians can carve out a successful career.   North Broward Preparatory School recently hosted breakout star and alum, American Idol Top 10 2024 finalist Sam Kelly-Cohen (Class of 2018), better known as Kayko. He shared his journey from NBPS graduation, attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music, and reaching America’s television screens on American Idol. Dubbed the "Accidental American Idol" after being encouraged to audition by Katy Perry, Kayko's rise to stardom displayed the importance of hard work, dedication, and authenticity.

On Monday, September 23, North Broward Preparatory School proudly hosted its 2nd Annual International Baccalaureate (IB) Pinning Ceremony, a special occasion celebrating 18 exceptional seniors who have reached the halfway point of their IB Diploma Programme journey. Among these remarkable students was Senior Camila Palladino, who delivered an inspiring speech that highlighted her personal and academic growth within the program.

Freiburghouse, Class of 2005, has been recognized as one of South Florida Business Journal's 2024 40 Under 40 honorees, a prestigious accolade that celebrates his exceptional leadership, business expertise, and substantial contributions to both his industry and the local community. Michael recently joined Fyzical Therapy & Balance Centers as Chief Financial Officer after holding similar roles and being instrumental in the growth and success of other South Florida based organizations such as PECAA and Logitix.

North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS) is thrilled to announce a remarkable milestone: for the fourth consecutive year, our senior class has achieved a 100% pass rate in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program. This outstanding achievement underscores the dedication of our students and faculty and highlights the rigorous academic environment, which prepares students for higher education and beyond. 

Summer is a crucial time for athletes to enhance their skills, build strength, and prepare for the competitive seasons ahead. At North Broward Preparatory School, the commitment to summer training not only fosters physical development, instills discipline, resilience, and a sense of community among student-athletes.  Here’s how summer training shapes athletes into champions, with insights from NBPS Athletic Director, Strength and Conditioning Director, and dedicated coaches.

Tejeda, a standout at North Broward Prep, was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 14th round, 410th overall. During his high school career, he dominated the mound with a perfect 15-0 record and showcased his offensive prowess, hitting .355 with four home runs and 30 RBIs as a senior. Despite being picked in the 19th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Tejeda chose to play his first year of college ball at the University of Florida, continuing to impress with his exceptional talent and dedication to the game. 

North Broward Preparatory School has achieved a remarkable milestone by raising over $236,000 for the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge in 2023, marking this fundraiser as the largest single donation ever received by the organization from a school. This achievement underscores NBPS's unwavering commitment to promoting whole-body wellness and supporting the mental and physical health of its students.

Incoming Junior Anna Toledano and Senior Inayaa Kazi from North Broward Preparatory School recently attended the Nord Anglia Education-UNICEF Student Summit. This event, hosted by The Village School and the British International School of Houston, gathered over 120 Nord Anglia students globally to explore implementing the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within their communities.

A prestigious program recognizes high school seniors in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, who excel academically and contribute significantly to their schools and communities. Established in 1959 by John S. Knight, the program honors students in fifteen categories. Nominees go through a process to craft their project, be nominated by their school, and interviewed by independent judges. Winners receive $2,000, a Silver Knight statue, and a medallion. Honorable Mentions receive $500 and a plaque, funded by the Blank Family Foundation.

Jayden Bodet's journey at North Broward Prep started in high school, with goals set to attend an elite university and study business. Full of gratitude, he accomplished his goal with acceptance into three Ivy League universities. It is truly inspiring. His dedication to academics, extracurriculars, and personal growth is evident in his accomplishments and the support he received from his teachers and college advising.
