After weeks of planning, the Year 4 and 5 students held a mystery movie fundraiser, raising over 11 million IDR for the UNICEF W.A.S.H programme.

On Wednesday 28 May 2019, the whole school community had a wonderful time celebrating Pancasila Day.

This year NIS launched a new swim program, based on the successful learn to swim programs from Australia and the USA.

We have had a stimulating and very enjoyable Book Week with a myriad of different activities taking place; class book studies, story writing, story baskets, book making, designing book covers, drama and poetry, and classroom doors decorated to represent the chosen book from each class.

The U8 football team have been going strong on the weekend matches with a 6-0 win over a Nurul Yaqin School, a 4-1 win over the German school and a 0-0 draw against the British School.

Being in the teaching profession requires keeping up to date with educational developments and research happening. My own current research in the classroom is with mathematics and the UK’s National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM). This organisation promotes a ‘deep and lasting procedural and conceptual mathematical understanding’ so that ‘children’s chances of succeeding in education and life will be maximised’.

Our Foundation 1 classroom displays high level of organization, thinking, engineering and creative thinking that is coming from our 3 & 4 year old students. This is STEAM come to life in NIS Jakarta Early Years

NIS is organizing a music group that is fun and friendly music sessions for little ones aged 0-24 months.

It was a superb team effort with a victory earned with team spirit and a strong defensive performance from the players. It was great to have all the players and supporters energised.

Attended by over 800 people, NIS Bazaar 2018 was successfully held on Saturday 1 December for our wider NIS Jakarta community.
