I think it's magical when children in the classroom have that 'light bulb' moment and begin to apply taught skills independently. For example, we use the Read, Write Inc. phonics scheme to teach the children the skills to read and write daily. However, it's truly a magic moment when they realize they can write a card or letter to a friend all by themselves often stating, "I know how to write that sound because we learned it phonics".
