ENQUIRE NOW

Dear all,

This week has been one of celebration at the Sixth Form Centre, with students and staff coming together to recognise achievements, leadership, and the importance of community.

Mid-Autumn Festival

Wishing a very happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all members of our community. Our celebrations were led by Ms Lin and Ms Quan with a joyful mooncake-decorating ceremony in the hall. As the full moon symbolises completeness, reunion, and togetherness, it was a fitting occasion for our community to come together and share such a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Student Leadership Council

We continued the week's celebrations with an exciting and significant milestone for our student body as we concluded the selection process for our Student Leadership Council (SLC) Committee Leaders. The SLC operates through specialised committees, allowing students to focus their leadership efforts on areas about which they are truly passionate. We are delighted to congratulate the following students who have been appointed to leadership positions:

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics): Kyle (Y13), Efe, Raphael, Ruskin and Sachleen (Y12)
Wellbeing: Ivanka (Y13), Reese and Jana (Y12)
Community and Events: Karissa and Claire (Y13), Winston, Hono, Mir, Rachel, Markus, Angela and Daria (Y12)
Environment: Minnie, Karin and Sofia (Y12)

We would like to commend every student who put themselves forward. It takes courage to lead, and all of our students demonstrated a commitment to making a positive contribution to our school community. The future of our school is clearly in very capable hands.

Under-18 Dragon Boat World Champion

Many congratulations to Lyla Baker, who was part of the Under-18 mixed crew that won three gold medals at the 15th IBDF Club Crew World Championships. Competing for the Typhoons Dragon Boat Club (龍捲風龍舟俱樂部) against clubs from 21 countries, Lyla helped her team secure first place in the 500m, 200m and 2000m events. This is an outstanding achievement and one of which she should be immensely proud. We are delighted to celebrate her remarkable success and dedication to her sport.

As we head into the long weekend, I would like to wish you all a peaceful and restful break.

With best wishes,

James Roscoe
Deputy Head of Secondary (Sixth Form)
