Founded in 2012, MET International Day is an annual event that celebrates the diversity of our school and is firmly established as one of our popular school traditions. Every year this fantastic event provides an opportunity for our entire community to connect, celebrate, and embrace the rich tapestry of cultures that make the MET so special.

The Panamanian Cultural Week is considered one of the most distinguished projects held annually at the Metropolitan School of Panama. Since opening in 2011, every November the MET family joins in the celebrations, dedicating a week to learning about the customs and traditions of Panama, where all members of our educational community have the opportunity to participate in interesting workshops and a folkloric gala, paying tribute to the host country.

Over the last months, we have worked closely with the American Chamber of Commerce and Glasswing Panama to partake in their San Miguelito Leadership Program. The program's aim is for organizations in the private sector to offer mentorship and training to leaders in public schools in San Miguelito, and benefit children through education and community development.

For the second consecutive year the Metropolitan School of Panama, in alliance with the PROED foundation, had the privilege of hosting Panamanian school teachers in a noble project that, since 2017, the PROED foundation carries out through its Diploma program in Innovative Strategies. The objective of the program is to create a memorable learning experience for teachers from schools in different regions of the country, which directly benefits their students and education in Panama. This program is endorsed by the Ministry of Education.

We are proud to share that our 2019 graduates achieved exceptional results in this year’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP). For the 2018-2019 academic school year, MET DP graduates achieved a pass rate of 92%, significantly higher than the international average of 80%.

Being a part of Nord Anglia Education has allowed the MET a unique opportunity to collaborate with the world's leader in performing arts education: The Juilliard School.

Seeing the last day departure, the Move Up ceremonies and various awards given, I saw our MET students in a really good place – reflecting on a year of learning, of friendship, and of challenges mostly met.

Playing competitive sports can teach students many positive social behaviours and life skills, but above all they realise that true competition is about working on themselves.

All Nord Anglia students are empowered to make a difference and to positively impact the world. Through our collaboration with UNICEF, students participate in meaningful activities to effect change in their schools and communities at large. To focus these efforts on specific goals, UNICEF annually challenges Nord Anglia students to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals, which are a collection 17 goals set by the United Nations regarding social and economic development issues.
