We work with students and all their future plans, whether that includes vocational training, job applications, or careers exploration. We provide support and guidance with CVs, interviews, and how to best prepare for the world of work.

Do you work with students on gap years?

We are always your counsellors! We support students through gap years and provide ongoing support for students throughout national service, whether in Singapore or abroad.

Do you work with only the students?

We work with students and their families closely. We encourage students to take control of their future planning, but encourage parents to also meet regularly with us to work as a team.

GUIDANCE AT EVERY STEP

UNIVERSITY & CAREERS COUNSELLING TEAM

Our University & Career Counselling (UCC) team works closely with every student and family to explore options, plan for the future and make confident decisions about what comes next. Support is personal, one-to-one and built around each student's own aspirations and strengths.

SUPPORT AT EVERY STAGE

At Dover Court, future planning begins in Year 8, giving students time to explore their interests and make informed choices. One-to-one support is available throughout, from early subject selection all the way through to graduation.

Years 8-11

Exploring routes

Students work with Progress Leaders, Form Tutors and the UCC team to explore subject choices, extracurricular activities and Sixth Form routes.

Families can book one-to-one guidance sessions to align IGCSE choices with curriculum options (whether that's the IB Diploma, Business BTEC or the DCIS Diploma) and map out degree prerequisites for the future.

Years 12-13

Planning & applying

The level of support goes further in Sixth Form. Every student is assigned a personal counsellor and has scheduled one-to-one meetings throughout the year, complemented by teacher-mentor check-ins focused on wellbeing, study habits and exam readiness.

Hands-on workshops cover the full range of application needs including UCAS personal statements, US college essays, requesting references, and portfolio and interview preparation. University visits and our annual on-campus University and Careers Fair give students direct access to admissions teams from institutions around the world.

THE TEAM BEHIND YOUR CHILD'S FUTURE

Our University and Careers Guidance team consists of two dedicated specialists, each bringing extensive experience in international university admissions. Every student is assigned a personal guidance counsellor who gets to know them individually, building a picture of their strengths, interests and aspirations.

The team holds professional accreditations from NACAC and IACAC, received extensive training from IB courses and attend global conferences regularly in order to stay abreast of latest best practices and admissions processes in leading universities across the world. Between them they have supported students into universities across dozens of countries around the world.
