The third MIT Challenge at BSY was an inspiring showcase of creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. Students were tasked with reimagining how buildings could withstand extreme environments, pushing them to think beyond traditional design and into the future of resilience.

This past weekend, the British School Yangon proudly hosted the World Scholar’s Cup 2026 Regional Round, welcoming an extraordinary number of schools and students to our campus. The event was a vibrant celebration of learning, collaboration, and global community, with hundreds of young scholars engaging in debates, quizzes, and team challenges.

The recent Year 5 and 6 residential trip to Pranburi, Thailand was an unforgettable experience that blended adventure, discovery, and personal growth. Over several days, our students immersed themselves in nature, embraced new challenges, and strengthened friendships in ways that will stay with them for years to come.

We are incredibly proud of our BSY students who recently took part in the FOBISIA U11 Games, competing against some of the strongest schools in the region. Despite the extremely hot conditions, our young athletes demonstrated outstanding resilience, bravery, and determination throughout the event.

Our students at The British School Yangon, Nord Anglia brought curiosity to life last week with a vibrant STEAM Exhibition that transformed our campus into a hub of discovery and innovation. Parents, teachers, and classmates joined together to explore, question, and celebrate the creativity of our young scientists and innovators.

Our recent Snowsports Expedition to Switzerland was an unforgettable adventure that highlighted not only the breathtaking beauty of the Alps, but also the resilience, spirit, and character of our students. From the moment we arrived, the group represented the British School Yangon with pride, enthusiasm, and maturity, proving themselves to be outstanding role models throughout the week.

BSY proudly celebrates Book Week annually as literacy is at the heart of education. Reading nurtures language, imagination, creativity, and confidence, and while technology continues to shape our world, the joy of books remains timeless. Book Week is an opportunity to remind students that reading is not only essential for learning but also exciting, inspiring, and fun.

This year, the British School Yangon was filled with joy, colour, and community spirit as we came together to celebrate Chinese New Year 2026 – the Year of the Horse. This meaningful festival marks new beginnings, hope, and togetherness, and our students, staff, and families embraced the occasion with enthusiasm.

Here, at the British School Yangon, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is central to how our Primary students learn. IPC provides a thematic, inquiry-based approach that encourages children to explore big ideas, make connections across subjects, and apply their learning to the real world.

In the first week of January, our BSY student leaders embraced that opportunity at the FOBISIA Student Leadership Conference 2026, hosted at Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar International School in Malaysia. The 3 day event brought together young leaders from across the region under the inspiring theme “Leading Beyond Limits.” It was a dynamic programme filled with powerful discussions, hands on workshops, and thought-provoking keynote sessions designed to expand perspectives and strengthen leadership skills of the students.

These spaces are more than occasional classrooms; they are central to everyday learning, designed to inspire curiosity, foster discovery, and prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow.

At The British School Yangon, we understand that language is more than words — it is a bridge to understanding, connection, and culture. Our recent Language Day Assembly was a vibrant celebration of the power of communication and the diversity that makes our BSY community truly global.

The final day of term at The British School Yangon was filled with warmth, excitement, and festive cheer as our EYFS and Primary students took to the stage for this year’s Primary Christmas Performance. It was a joyful celebration that brought our community together and showcased the creativity, confidence, and seasonal spirit of our youngest learners.

At The British School Yangon, we believe kindness has the power to transform lives. This year’s BSY Giving Tree proved just that, as our community came together to spread Christmas joy to children from some of Yangon’s most vulnerable communities.
