Liam Rochford comes from South Africa where he graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Human Movement, Science & Sport’s Management from the University of Pretoria. For the past eight years he has gained experience teaching in the United Kingdom and Vietnam. Liam now looks forward to his new adventure in Guangzhou, China where he will join BSG as a Physical Education teacher.
Liam's teaching philosophy is grounded in creating engaging lessons that create opportunities for active learning and a general enjoyment of physical activity. He believes that PE is an incredibly important subject for all students as it not only teaches them the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, but it also installs in them skills such as perseverance, confidence and teamwork.
Outside of school Liam spends his free time participating in a variety of sports including football, running and cricket. He is incredibly passionate about sport in his country, and you will often find him cheering on his home teams. He loves exploring nature and travelling to new places. He can’t wait to see what Guangzhou has to offer, and Liam incredibly excited to start his teaching journey at BSG and becoming a part of the already thriving school community.
