The 7th March marked a day of celebration as students at the British School of Guangzhou (BSG) awaited their January external examination Advanced Level module results in subjects as diverse as Biology to Further Maths.

This week was a very special internationally celebrated week in the world of Mathematics. On March 14th, or 3.14, it was World Pi Day.

There has been a buzz about books at BSG this week as we have held our annual Book Week across our campuses. It has been fantastic to celebrate our love of reading throughout the week by engaging in activities such as storytelling and exploring new books, allowing our imagination to wonder to far off lands.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of our parents and the generosity of sponsors, we are thrilled to announce that we raised a staggering amount of RMB148,094 for our two chosen charities, Guangzhou Gold Ribbon and Huiling School. This remarkable achievement demonstrates the power of collective effort and the impact we can make when we unite for a common cause.

Year 7-10 students recently completed their residential week in Hong Kong with our partners, The Hutong group. Aside from being a hugely enjoyable experience, residentials provide our students with a unique and transformative learning experience that extends beyond traditional classroom settings.

From the youngest learners to the seasoned secondary students, our entire school community came together to celebrate the achievements of the past term and to usher in the magic of the holidays.

Last Sunday, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the BSG Early Years and Year 1 community celebrated the season with a Christmas event that delighted over 400 guests, including children, parents and our amazing school staff.

The British School of Guangzhou hosted the final of the BSG Young Musician Award which took place in the BSG Theatre from 19.00 – 20.30 on the 23rd of November.

The British School, Guangzhou is delighted to receive the 2023 Pearson Edexcel Pioneer Award which recognizes and celebrates the schools of students who received ‘Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards’ for exceptional results achieved in the 2022/2023 examination series.

On World Children’s Day, which is every year’s November 20th and UNICEF’s annual day of action for children, all students in BSG are encouraged to wear blue and bring 10RMB to school to raise money.

The Primary Music Showcase took place on Wednesday, November 15th and was a huge success!

Over the weekend of the 17-19 November, 120 school leaders from Nord Anglia Education (NAE) China Bilingual and China International Schools gathered at The British School of Guangzhou to address some of the most significant questions impacting our schools in China.

On Friday, November 10th, our Pre-Nursery and Nursery students had a delightful Picnic Tea at our Olympic Park Campus. This special event served as a perfect conclusion to our core text 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea'.
