Properties of 2D Shape and Perimeter

This week in the Macaws, we have been learning about properties of shapes.

The children sorted a range of 2D shapes based on their proprieties such as: vertices, parallel lines, perpendicular lines and lines of symmetry. The children have also been finding the perimeter of 2D shapes, by adding up each side, as well as finding missing lengths of shapes by using facts that they already know about certain shapes. This involved taking many risks and thinking in different ways.
