Nursery has been having a fabulous time learning all about Community Helper.

It has been a week full of creativity, knowledge and fun for the Year 1 children. Everyone should be extremely proud of their commitment and collaborative efforts during the build up to the show which took place on Wednesday and Thursday.

Our Early Years students balanced, ran and shuffled their way through sports stations with pride, collaborating on tricky throws and creatively finding ways to wave to their audience while completing their tasks!

Our House Sports Captains were given the opportunity to award our Early Years students with Rosettes for their Sports Day! Captains praised their younger counterparts for their hard work and sports skills, and made sure that they had fun even when receiving their reward for their efforts.

The highlight of this week was definitely our Sports Day. Thank you for the parents who came and attended the event with us. It was great to see all the parents and children enjoying some sports together.

Year 4 researched the different planets and moons in our solar system and created fun fact-files that they presented to their classmates.

Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 competed with their houses under blue skies on Thursday 2nd May at our 2024 Sports Day for Key Stage 2.

Following outcomes of the 2023/2024 student-led school food survey, our very own Chef Jack created a bespoke Japanese menu for all students (and staff) to enjoy!

Our KS1 students had their annual Sports Day on Wednesday 24th April it gave us great pleasure to see such enthusiasm and efforts from every student on display!

Huge congratulations to the pirates and the mer-people in their Year 4 performance of ‘Pirates vs Mermaids’.  A tremendous amount of effort was displayed by all as they practised lines, perfected dances, and refined songs.

Our amazing Year 1 students took the field in Si De Park for their Sports Day on Wednesday 24th April. The sun shone brightly, smiles were wide and there was an abundance of team spirit on this day.

Students, parents and staff each had an amazing opportunity last week to participate in workshops with Juilliard’s Dance Curriculum Specialist, Ms Salla Saarikangas.

Year 4 put their scientific skills to the test as they investigated which popular drinks cause most damage to tooth enamel.

The NAE Performing Arts Festival North China was held on April 12th 2024, emphasised once again how talented, creative, and cooperative children can be when they gather under favourable auspices and have the chance to show their creativity.

The children used their sense to describe what their own Bog Baby would look like, they turned these into sentences and will use their character description to make their Bog Baby come to life using clay!

Our Nursery children are making strides in becoming more independent in meeting their own needs.

It has been a great week for learning new topics in all Chinese classrooms. Students learned new texts and Chinese characters by engaging in a variety of activities.

In Topic, the children have been exploring how plants grow and what they need to thrive. Through hands-on experimentation and observation, they have embraced their role of scientists, created hypotheses and engaged in critical thinking.

To recognise the great efforts of students that entered the Global Campus Virtual Young Musician of the Year Competition, BSB Sanlitun hosted our talented young artists in three musical soirees across March, in the San building foyer.

A part of our plants theme this week, the children are gardeners, botanists and nature enthusiasts, learning about nature and the tiny creatures that live around us.
