The school was treated to a special German menu on 21st June, planned and produced by Frau Song and the BSB Sanlitun German Programme.

Our Year 3 students have been immersed in the world of similes, exploring how to vividly compare two things using ‘like’ or ‘as’.

This week, Nursery children have been engaging in our STEAM project – building a house for the three little pigs. Everyone made an effort into this!

At BSB Sanlitun, we love sportsmanship, and nothing demonstrates this more than when we are able to celebrate those that have really stood out in being team players and working to improve their skills.

Our amazing Year 6 classes demonstrated their creativity, cooperation, and commitment skillsets, working tirelessly together to put on a fabulous performance for their peers and families!

Although the classroom is where 70% of lessons may take place, it is not exclusively there where learning happens. Apart from specialist lessons like PE, Chinese and Performing Arts, at BSB Sanlitun we also have some great educational spaces that function as purpose-built learning areas that are more fitting and practical than the classroom for certain activities.

Following on the amazingly successful day that BSB Sanlitun spent with the British Award-Winning Author and Illustrator Miss Emily Gravett, our Year 1 Lions showed off their Be Kind skills.

Year 2 have been learning about ‘Nature’ in their Chinese lessons. Students had lots of fun getting out of their classrooms to find nature in the school!

This week in Year 5 Science, we have been looking at plastic pollution and how it is affecting our environment.

Using modern technology, the children saw green roof inspirations created by Artificial Intelligence and used this as a stimulus to generate ideas collaboratively.

Spoiler Alert! Year 6 put on two amazing performances for Key Stage 2 classes on Monday and Reception and Key Stage 1 classes on Wednesday, demonstrating that their Annual Production is really The Greatest Show.

Keeping with our focus on wellbeing and mindfulness, BSB Sanlitun hosted the Embassy of India to lead a lunchtime session of yoga for Year 4 students, in celebration of the International Day of Yoga.

The school proudly hosted 11 candidates from Year 5 on Tuesday to give speeches for their campaigns as the new potential Head Boy and Head Girl for 2024/2025.

Last week, our BSB Sanlitun Year 6 students participated in the Nord Anglia Beijing Sports Festival at The British School of Beijing, Shunyi. An event that created history by bringing together the four Nord Anglia schools in Beijing for the very first time! And what a wonderful event it was with two glorious days of sport.

The Year 1 children really enjoyed the author visit from Emily Gravett last week. They were so excited to have met another author and felt very lucky.

This past week the children of Nursery have enjoyed exploring different materials such as sand, rice, oats, and sticky slime.

This week our Year 4 students joined their very first Leadership Lunch as part of their transition into the Upper Primary in August. They joined the lunchtime talk by Mr Bruno Leonardo Segura, a Mexican student aged just 14 years old, who spoke about how the cultural melting pot begun with historical trade routes is still important today.

As the year is winding down to an end, the Year 2s are showing off all the wonderful writing skills they have learnt this year.

BSB Sanlitun loves Emily Gravett! The award-winning British Author and Illustrator Miss Gravett spent time in the school to draw, play and read with both students and parents.

Our Key Stage 1 students were out in full force this week, showing off their House colours and school spirit by competing in some friendly Football competitions.
