We are delighted to announce the phenomenal results of our 2021 International Baccalaureate graduating class at the British International School of Chicago, South Loop. A total of 30 students sat the full International Baccalaureate Diploma at British International School of Chicago, South Loop. The average score from our Class of 2021 was 37, the school’s best ever and 4 points higher than this year’s IBDP global average of 33, widening the gap between British International School of Chicago, South Loop and other IB schools around the world.

Jennifer Thomas, Village High School's Dean of Students, recently wrote a children’s book focused on the difficulty siblings face when one goes off to college. Her book, See You in Tomorrow, is based on her son’s real-life experience when his older brother left for school.

Our High School math team took part in the ICTM regional/state online contest on Wednesday, March 17th. Overall, we are regional champions and 4th in State.

Each year we share our parent satisfaction survey to help us improve our understanding of how we are performing in key areas - what we are doing well and the areas where we can improve so that we can continue to provide the best possible educational experience for your child.

Amani is in Year 12 and studying Visual Arts at IB. She has been virtual for pretty much the duration of this year and is developing a portfolio of work based on themes of social injustice!

This year, Primary, Middle, and High School will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday, April 23, 2021.

We are excited to share the successes of a student in our Middle School. Students have been working on this year’s MIT Challenge 2, called “Mission Moxie”, in Science lessons recently.

Each year, Global Campus holds a creative writing competition. The competition follows a theme and entries are submitted in different age categories. Throughout Autumn term, our Key Stage 2 and Middle School children worked hard to prepare entries for this year’s competition. Each school in the Nord Anglia family can participate but only 1 entry per school can be entered into each age category.

Well done to all of the students who recently competed in the various Mathematic competitions.

This year's Nord Anglia Education Virtual Young Musician of the Year Competition was bigger and more impressive than ever! Over 1300 students from 61 schools entered the competition, submitting over 6,500 minutes of performance videos, and the team of judges reviewed every single minute of every single video.

Karys, Claire and Adriano entered the University of Illinois, Chicago's annual High School German Day. Karys and Claire entered the poetry reading competition, whilst Adriano created an advert for why learning German is fun.

Audrey Ajakaye, a junior at Village knows first-hand how it feels to be subjected to skin related prejudice and colorism. So, when the opportunity presented itself in Audrey’s junior year at The Village School to create an innovative project, she drew on her own personal experiences and knew she wanted to focus on how skin issues impact people’s mental health.

Year 5 Gavin and Year 3 Avia partnered with a Senior Citizen facility on Chicago’s South Side.

BISC South Loop High School partnered with the Chicago Help Initiative (CHI) to provide bagged lunches for homeless charities throughout the city of Chicago. Led by 2 South Loop High School students, Davin and Gabrielle, this initiative provided a chance for high school students to gain service hours and make a real impact in the Chicago area!

Between February 22 and March 8, 2021, BISC will have its 3rd annual sock drive, but this year it will be run a little differently with both in-person and virtual donation options. Students who donate will be able to have a free dress day on March 8.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a day to honor the civil rights crusader and is also a great time to teach kids about his life and what the Nobel Peace Prize winner stood for.

On Thursday, November 12, Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9 students British International School of Chicago, South Loop sat the online contest during a math lesson in the American Mathematics Competition or AMC 8.
