Inquire NowYear 5/6 started their new IPC topic with a STEAM design challenge using the BISC design cycle. They learned about the Colorado River and use Google Street View to take a first-person virtual trip down the river. They were wowed by the scenery and fascinated by how the river was formed over millions of years. Then they worked in teams to design, build and test a raft which would be suitable for a real river trip. It was a lot of fun, challenging and times and led to lots of discussion about water, rivers and also revisited our previous learning on forces.
