Crystal Growing

Year 10 have done an investigation into whether the ratio of cation to anion will affect the shape of the crystals formed from ionic compounds. We are excited to grow our crystals over Thanksgiving break and expect to find some beautifully colored crystals with individual shapes when we come back. We will be looking at them under a digital microscope in order to draw conclusions about a relationship between ratio of the formula and shape of crystal.
