Prescribed Practical

Our IBDP Chemistry students tackled their first prescribed practical this week! In the course of this experiment, students had to overcome several problems such as running out of gas midway and figuring out how to get the tripod to be useful over the burner (it didn't fit!) but they persevered and problem solved until they got it sorted and completed the practical. They used the technique 'drying to a constant mass' to discover the empirical formula of copper sulphate pentahydrate.
