From early school closures to the lack of handshakes and high fives, this year has been unique, to say the least. COVID-19 has shaken society and pushed the limits of our school systems to the absolute max. Starting the 2020-2021 school year has been arduous for students and teachers alike, proving it to be difficult to transition into our new normality.

We are extremely proud to share that our Class of 2020 IB diploma students achieved exceptional results, significantly exceeding global averages.

Our Nord Anglia Education expedition staff team are fundraising for Kiwawa Secondary School in Tanzania. In September they will be taking on the challenge of covering 7303 km in any human-powered way possible! By running, cycling, swimming, walking, climbing, you name it!, in the duration of 2 weeks starting on the 11th of September. There are 21 in the team, so that's about the equivalent of half a marathon a day each!

With utter delight, pure innocence and genuine curiosity, one of my 5-year-old students once asked me if my skin was made of chocolate. My immediate thought was how awesome that would be, before I smiled and tried to explain to him, to the best of my ability, why I looked different from him. It dawned on me that this may have been a question on his mind from the day I first walked into his classroom months before, but I had never seen it impact how he treated me: with complete respect, love, and kindness.

Kilimanjaro is the worlds tallest freestanding peak, standing at 5895m above sea level it is a fantastic experience. Those students who get the chance to climb Kilimanjaro experience, harsh weather conditions, high altitude and long days off climbing. Could you take on this challenge at home?
