What a wonderful start to the Academic Year 2022 - 2023.

Dear Parents and Students, It is always a special moment when our community comes back together for the start of a new academic year, and it was certainly the case on Wednesday as students excitedly returned to Campus.

The British International School HCMC (BIS HCMC) is incredibly proud of the IB Diploma Programme results awarded yesterday to our Graduating Class of 2022. This class of 2022, our largest ever IBDP cohort of 122 students gained a 100% pass rate. Once again the knowledge, skills, and aptitudes of our students has been recognised with stunning academic results that place the British International School Ho Chi Minh City students among the very best worldwide.

Dear Parents and Students, It has been a special last day of term today as we celebrate reaching the end of the academic year. As I look back, in some ways it feels like the start of this academic year was a completely different world, in a different time- in other ways, it feels like only yesterday.

International Week is a highlight of the school year, there has been so much happening all week to help strengthen the BIS community.

4 Sports Days, 4 Productions, Transitions Day for Year 6, Year 2 visiting the Junior Campus.

From Ice-Cream Science to Ice skating, Farm Visits to Film-making, Dog Training to Dragon’s Den, Community Work to Quidditch and so much more - this week has been an unforgettable one, on and off the Secondary Campus as we held our wonderful Week Without Walls 2022.

As well as super learning opportunities, events are happening that bring the BIS community together once again.

Dear all, This week has been one of finals and firsts for the Secondary Campus. This afternoon saw the clock run down on the final IB examination of the May 2022 session - my congratulations to our Year 13 students. It has been an intense 3 weeks, a fitting culmination of a rich and challenging programme of study, made even more demanding by the context of these last two years.

Last week was Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK. The theme, this year, was exploring the experience of loneliness, its effect on our mental health and how we can all play a part in reducing loneliness in our communities. A topic that is highly relevant considering the past two years

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of the PTG Potluck lunch yesterday.

This term at Primary we are looking at the Aide Memoire attribute of Perseverance.

The qualities of the schools ‘aide memoire’ have been evident this week, as our community continues to rebuild following the months of separation brought on by the pandemic.

A short but busy week with classes active and engaged across the school! As our Year 11 and 13 students embark on their IGCSE and IB exams, the learning continues across primary in the journey of education for all our students.

Despite this shorter school week, there has been no let up in the range and quality of experiences across the Secondary Campus. Read more now.

Despite the rainy end to the week, it has been a glorious week of events here at the EY&I and Junior Campuses with children performing, exploring, investigating and much more across all ages and stages.

Dear Parents, Term 3 has begun in full swing this week as our Year 13 students commence their IBDP exams, our Year 11 students head off to IGCSE Study Leave with a wonderful farewell assembly and students in other year groups embark with gusto into the start of Term 3 CCA programme.

The first week of Term 3 has been busy! We’ve been delighted to welcome new students to both campuses and indeed some students that have returned to BIS after time away.
