BIS HCMC Junior Production Club presents to you The Jungle Book by Disney Kids!

For this week's 'Meet the Teacher' our Year 12 students, Jamie and Ji Min speak to English Teacher Ms Mackenzie.

It was the week they had been waiting for! 4 students from BIS HCMC flew all the way to Boston to join 25 other Nord Anglia Education students for STEAM Week @ MIT - a unique, five-day long event packed with STEAM-related challenges, learning and adventure at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

On Saturday 7th April, two teams of STEAM enthusiasts representing BIS HCMC attended the 2nd annual Saigon STEAM Fair held at the International School, Ho Chi Minh City.

Fundinotots, in collaboration with Family Medical Practice, is proud to co-host a workshop on Healthy Nutrition and Good Eating Habits with paediatrician Dr. Jonathan Halevy.

Once again NAE students have been given the unique opportunity to travel to the United Nations Headquarters in New York to attend the High Level Political Forum and engage in a Global MUN debate with 3 ambitious students representing the British International School, Ho Chi Minh City.

It’s one of the biggest events in NAE’s calendar - STEAM Week @ MIT kicked off this weekend on 29th April! An interesting fact unknown to many about MIT is its motto, “mind and hand”, or Mens et Manus in Latin. We would like to share a blog post by Mark Orrow-Whiting, Nord Anglia Education’s Director of Curriculum and Student Performance, on why he believes the “mind and hand” philosophy is integral to NAE’s STEAM curriculum, which has been enhanced in a collaboration with the university.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is the world's leading youth achievement award equipping young people for life and work. This award takes a huge amount of time and dedication to achieve therefore our sincere congratulations go out this week to the 19 Year 11 students who were awarded their Bronze level and the 9 Year 13 students who were awarded the highest level of Gold.

Developing a positive school culture for wellbeing is vital for achieving the desired outcomes for student happiness. However, at times we can all feel a little overwhelmed, particularly in an environment where there is a lot going on. Pressure to perform and improve drives us on and makes us better at what we do but ultimately, if we can’t manage pressure effectively it can lead to stress.

A huge congratulations goes out to Year 7 student Raghav Dwivedi who has once again been crowned winner of the FOBISIA Short Story Competition! After winning the primary category in 2017, he has now gone on to win the Secondary category as one of the youngest participants in his group.

Considering the nature of our world’s rapid growth, change and conflict, cooperation amongst nations is essential to ensuring a future where we resolve our issues and all infringements upon human rights cease to exist.

As part of the Year 6 Residential Trip to Cat Tien, Year 6 students had the chance to visit EAST to see first-hand, the amazing work that they do to protect Vietnamese primates.

On Wednesday 28th March 2018, our student-gymnasts represented BIS HCMC in the annual BIS Invitational Gymnastics competition. There were over 50 competitors from BIS, BVIS and ISHCMC performing in both floor and vault routines, levels ranging from 1-4.

On 24th March, 14 students and 3 teachers visited the Go Vap Orphanage in Ky Quang Pagoda. We had a memorable time colouring, talking, playing football, cuddling and making masks with the children.
