The Year 13 students have started a new and challenging phase of their Theory of Knowledge course (TOK) with the release of the May 2020 prescribed titles.

As the new school year starts, with an influx of Year 12s to the Sixth Form and the Year 13 realisation that it is more than halfway through the IB and they face some big decisions about where they want to move on to next, The College and University Guidance Team begins a familiar cycle.

The ‘Active Planet’ IPC topic entry point has certainly grabbed our Year 4 students’ attention in the way that IPC entry points are designed to!

On Wednesday 28th August 2019, the students of Year 5 had their ‘Entry Point’ for our first IPC topic, ‘Mission to Mars’.

This term, Y6 will be studying their History focused IPC unit, ‘The Great, The Bold and The Brave’.

The English as an Additional Language (EAL) department works with students whose first language is not English and who therefore need direct support with English.

BIS HCMC Sport 2019-2020

This Summer, 20 BIS HCMC students had the incredible opportunity of representing Ho Chi Minh City in an international football tournament as part of the Rising Star Football Academy European Tour.

Every Nord Anglia international school supports its students to achieve more than they may have thought possible. We believe there is no limit to what students can achieve socially, personally and academically. This year, our students’ academic results reflect our shared commitment to excellence in this area.

The BIS-RSFA team have gone from strength to strength this year, with regular representation at tournaments at BIS and throughout the city in various 7-8-9 and 11 a side formats.

The BIS English Department traditionally end the academic year with some challenging and enjoyable competitions involving whole year groups at KS3, and this year saw Year 7 classes go head-to-head to find the overall Poetry Recital winner, with Year 8 verbally sparring to decide the year group’s Public Speaking champion.

The end to another fantastic year of Sport at BIS culminated with the celebratory evening of the BIS Sports Awards 2018-2019.

It is always difficult to say goodbye to teachers and this year we say goodbye to 16 fabulous teachers across both our primary campuses.

The Year 11 students marked the end of their IGCSE journey with a fantastic evening of celebration at the Sofitel Hotel on Saturday 15th June.

Year 2 ventured out to the beautiful countryside of District 9 to explore ao dais from a range of places and through history.

The Geography Department firmly believe that learning outside of the classroom plays a fundamental role in our students building a deeper understanding and a stronger connection with the world around them.

Let’s take you back to 2017 when BIS students and brothers Aloïs, Jérémie and Mathéo Luong organised a toothpaste collection in conjunction with our Community Service department.

On Friday 9th June, our F1 in Schools team, Nam Phong Racing, who will be representing Vietnam in the Abu Dhabi World Finals this November, successfully hosted the second BIS Grand Prix event.

Congratulations to all our participants at the 12th Annual BIS Primary Aquathlon held at the Junior Campus last Saturday.
