Last month we were proud to have three student ambassadors attend this year’s NAE-UNICEF Student Summit, hosted for the first time ever in Houston, Texas from 12 to 19 June 2024. The event was hosted at Nord Anglia’s two schools in the city: The Village School and the British International School of Houston. Houston was chosen as the ideal location for the Summit thanks to being the first officially recognised “Child-Friendly City” in the United States of America.

After 13 years at BIS our Whole School Deputy Head Teacher (Enrichment) Ms Lauren Binnington has made a huge mark on BIS HCMC. One of the many long-lasting changes she has seen in her time is the development of our sustainability practices in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Last week two of our students, JaeYeon and Caitlin, joined over 100 NAE student delegates from around the world at the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit in New York City. This was an extraordinary opportunity for them to develop their leadership and advocacy skills and collaborate with like-minded students to cultivate their social purpose through the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

United Nations International School Model United Nations (UNISMUN) is a 3 day, annual conference hosted by UNIS Hanoi.
