Imagine stepping into the halls of MIT, where ideas that change the world are born. Through our Nord Anglia Education collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, BIS HCMC students experienced exactly that—a week of discovery and creativity that inspires the next generation of innovators.

Team Mercury VN, a group of six Year 13 students from BIS HCMC, proudly represented Vietnam at the 2025 Aramco STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore, winning the prestigious Autodesk Design and Make Award among 83 teams from 34 countries.

In March, we welcomed student STEAM teams from St. Andrews Bangkok, Nord Anglia International School Manila, and Regents International School Pattaya, alongside our sister schools in Vietnam; BVIS HCMC, BIS Hanoi and BVIS Hanoi to join the NAE SEA STEAM Festival 2024. The theme for this year was “Otherworldly” where each expeditionary team prepared for populating an exoplanet, planning everything from delivering their supplies, to building transportation and shelter.

Inspired by the Nord Anglia Education Insights article, “The Fourth Education Revolution” we wanted to share with you our own insights on AI in education.  At BIS HCMC we want to lead the way and we believe that AI can be used as a tool for creativity across the entire curriculum. Hear what our teachers and students have to say about how we can utilise AI to foster creativity and spark inspiration!

On Saturday 11th November, our secondary robotics team and their two robots, BIS A and BIS B headed to SSIS in District 7, for their first ever VEX robotics tournament. Despite only having 1 robot built the week before and not having much time to practice, the team had a tremendously successful run battling against other schools, making it to the quarter and semi-finals!

In March our Junior and Secondary coders took part in 2 coding challenges competing against schools across Asia. The first challenge hosted by The British School of Manila, saw our senior team succeeding with their lost and found organisation platform, whilst the Junior competition, hosted by BIS HCMC, saw our teams winning best presentation across KS2 and KS3.
