Our students have once again achieved outstanding results in the outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards. In the June 2025 examination series 12 students earned 15 awards, including 7 Top in the World and 6 Top in Vietnam awards. One student also achieved Best across 8 Subjects - First place in Vietnam, an exceptional accomplishment that reflects remarkable academic breadth. Another student demonstrated an incredible accomplishment in a less studied subject, receiving a High Achievement award.

These experiences rival professional productions on the global stage.

We are proud to announce the achievements of ten BIS HCMC students who have been recognised with the Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards and Oxford AQA Go Further Awards 2024. These prestigious awards celebrate the highest performers in Cambridge and Oxford IGCSE exams across a wide range of subjects. This year, BIS HCMC students have excelled in Mathematics, English Language and Literature, Art and Design, Mandarin Chinese, Biology, Music, and Foreign Languages, showcasing the diversity of talent within our school.

On Friday 8th June, 50 of our Key Stage 2 and 3 students were involved in the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City FOBISIA music event.

Ms Astley joined other Nord Anglia Education teachers from around the world to learn more about the Juilliard Drama Curriculum coming to the British International School, Ho Chi Minh City from August 2018.

This week we have been lucky enough to have been visited by Paul Murphy, our Juilliard Curriculum Mentor. This is now Paul’s fifth visit to BIS HCMC where he has met many of our staff and students.

After almost 3 months of rehearsals and preparation we are approaching the performance of this year’s KS3 production; Antigone.

On Sunday the 5th of November, 6 international schools in Ho Chi Minh City, including 70 musicians from BIS HCMC came together to perform at the annual charity fundraising event; Saimuse.

Music teachers from BIS HCMC recently attended the 2017 FOBISIA Music Teachers’ Conference as part of their ongoing professional development.

This week we were able to celebrate the perseverance and the commitment of all of our LAMDA and ABRSM students in assembly.

On Monday 28th November we were treated to a recital by the concert pianist Quang Hong Luu. It was a great privilege for BIS HCMC to host Mr Luu who is normally based in Sydney, Australia.

The top scoring 35 Students from the ABRSM Examinations in June were invited to perform their favourite piece at the High Scorers’ Concert, which BIS was proud to host on Saturday 19th September.

Our students are always up for a challenge and this week they showed how well they rise to them by performing the school’s first Shakespeare production in the original text, ‘Romeo and Juliet’. This is the third collaboration between the English and drama department, aiming to bring to life the plays the students study in English. The production explored the themes of the conflict between the generations, and the oppression of women. The cast, from Years 10 and 12, were outstanding with dazzling performances in both year groups
