At BIS Hanoi, on-going formative assessment of our children’s learning happens every day and in every lesson. Through this daily assessment, our teachers are able to plan and pitch their lessons to all of the children’s different abilities and stages of learning. Mid-Autumn festival is one of the biggest celebrations in Vietnam and is called ‘Tet Trung thu’. Children love this colourful time with bright decorations and fun activities. BIS Hanoi Secondary School is proud to be adopting VIA Character Strengths into both our Pastoral and Academic programs this year. VIA strengths highlights 24 character strengths that across cultures, nationalities and religions we can all agree make up what is best in human beings.

Prior to the students returning to school, the teachers worked in year group teams to review and update the unit themes, ensuring they are relevant and exciting for our students at BIS Hanoi.

Martin Toner, the STEAM Leader at British International School Hanoi (BIS), explained to Urbanist Hanoi that one group of students designed a diving suit that drew on their knowledge of Science and Chemistry, as well as design and even aesthetics.
