450 students representing 16 schools and 6 countries gathered at our school over the weekend as we proudly hosted the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) under 11 Games.

Students from BIS Abu Dhabi joined the regional Model United Nations with schools across Europe and the Middle East held on 8 and 9 February. At this two-day regional event hosted at La Côte International School (LCIS) in Aubonne Switzerland, BIS Abu Dhabi and fellow NAE students aged 11 to 14 took on the role of delegates from participating countries in the actual United Nations.

The most important things about schools are the people in them. That encompasses the students, the parents and of course all the members of staff. With regard to giving our students the best possible education and learning opportunities, this falls to those colleagues who play the crucial role of teacher.

At BIS Abu Dhabi we take cyber-bullying very seriously. Whilst technological advancement has its benefits on students’ lives and achievement, we are mindful of the potential for bullying to occur. We strongly believe that all pupils have a right not to be bullied and that bullying is always unacceptable.

Our Principal, Mr Patrick Horne, was invited to give a presentation at a Moral Education Forum led by the Crown Prince’s Court.

TEDx is an event that is planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. We are proud to announce that our school will be coordinating a TEDxYouth@BISAbuDhabi event on 26th March 2019.

All of us are accustomed to sustained hard work of course, but sometimes we forget to build in some ‘downtime’, to relax and recharge those metaphorical mental and physical batteries.

We are very proud of our students for winning the Varsity History Bowl and Middle School History Bowl at the International History Bee and Bowl over the weekend. A special mention to Balint Janescko, who was crowned the individual History Champion of the UAE!
