This week, we successfully hosted our 2nd annual Young Leaders Conference which included 187 of our students from Year 7 to Year 13 within our school. The conference placed a significant emphasis on fostering the development of leadership skills among our students. 

We would like to invite all our current Year 11 Secondary parents, as well as any parents and students who may wish to join our BIS Abu Dhabi Senior School (Years 12-13/ Sixth Form), to our Senior School Options Evening on Thursday, 26th of October at 5pm.

We are thrilled to announce Aarav FS1C's remarkable achievement of being one of the winners at The National Young Authors' Fair – UAE, along with the publication of his book 'The Mystical Mind'.

We are delighted to introduce you to Asem Masharfa, BIS Abu Dhabi’s new Head of Arabic.  Asem joins us with a wealth of experience of leading this core subject and he is excited to continue his professional journey in our school.

The Young Leaders Programme is back! The second annual Young Leaders Conference is due to take place on Tuesday, October 3rd and is open to Year 7 - Year 13. This year, the areas of Leadership available to students are: MUN, STEAM, Languages, Sports, House, Debating, Theatre and PALs (Peer Assisted Learning.)

Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi made history by becoming the first Arab astronaut to embark on a six-month space mission at the International Space Station (ISS), and on Monday evening, he touched down on UAE soil. 11 of our students had the extraordinary honour of welcoming home Sultan Al Neyadi at the new Abu Dhabi International Airport.

My name is Liz Ann Mathew, I am originally from India, and I am delighted to be joining BIS Abu Dhabi as a school counsellor. I am a Professional Social Worker specialised in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work with over 16 years of experience. I am a member of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and Social Work England (SWE).

Yesterday, Thursday, 21st September, the Falcon Academy Sports Hall became a venue for our largest ever University Fair with 80 stands.

We are delighted to be partnering with Al Jazira Club who will be hosting football trainings at our school.

This place. There is a song currently being played on the radio called ‘This Place’ by a young man from Liverpool called Jamie Webster. It’s a modern rendition of an old folk tradition in which singers tell us about their hometown and how much it means to them.

Please join us at our next Early Years Open Morning to experience life at The British International School Abu Dhabi, on 22nd September from 8 am - 9 am. All parents with children aged 0-4 years old are welcome to come along and get a firsthand experience of our Nursery and FS2.

As I experience my first start of a new academic term here at BIS Abu Dhabi, I am also getting my first opportunity to write a message in the newsletter. I want to open by extending a warm welcome to all new and returning families as we embark on this exciting journey together.

Meet Qais, Class of 2023 IB Diploma Graduate Qais started with us at  BIS Abu Dhabi in 2021, joining in Year 12. After a fantastic 2 years, he has graduated with a remarkable score of 42 points. Reflecting on his feelings upon receiving his results, Qais shared, "Upon receiving my IB results; I was excited and pleased to have achieved an outstanding score of 42 reflecting my hard work, perseverance, and commitment towards academic excellence. I felt a sense of pride having scored amongst top performers worldwide."

Meet one of our Exceptional Alumni! We are thrilled to spotlight Nathan, Class of 2020! Nathan recently graduated with a remarkable first-class honours degree in Applied Medical Science from Swansea University in the UK. His dedication and hard work have paved the way for his bright future, as he eagerly awaits to start a postgraduate in medicine to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.

Meet Aamukta, Class of 2023 IB Diploma Graduate Aamukta started her journey with us at BIS Abu Dhabi in 2019, joining in Year 10. After four years of hard work and dedication, she has graduated with an outstanding score of 42 points. Reflecting on her feelings upon receiving her results, Aamukta shared, "Prior to receiving my result, I felt so much stress and anticipation, so I was relieved to see the score that I got. I was definitely quite shocked as it was impossible for me to predict my score based on those exams, but nevertheless, I was proud of myself."

Meet Sebastien, Class of 2023 IB Diploma Graduate   Sebastien joined BIS Abu Dhabi in 2021, commencing his IB Diploma journey in Year 12. After two years of dedication and hard work, he has graduated with an impressive score of 36 points. Sebastien expressed his joy upon receiving his results, saying, "Knowing just how harsh the IB had been this year, I was delighted to see I had received 36 points. I was already accepted and confirmed for Berklee, so such a good score was really the cherry on top."

Meet Aaron Regan, Year 3 Primary Teacher!  “It’s exciting to teach children from all over the world and learn from them as much as they learn from me.”

Meet Charlotte, Class of 2023 IB Diploma Graduate Charlotte started her journey with us at BIS Abu Dhabi in Year 5, and after an enriching 9 years, she has graduated with flying colours. Achieving an impressive score of 41 points out of a possible 45 in the IB Diploma Programme, Charlotte's hard work and dedication have paid off, and her outstanding achievement places her among the top-performing students at the school, who achieved 40 points or more.
