Enquire nowPreparing for carnival - Samba season. In the music curriculum, we cover a wide range of topics, to ensure that we develop an understanding of how music from all areas of the world can influence each other.
In year 7 one of the topics is samba. Students learn about Brazilian carnival and what a typical samba batucada piece sounds like. They then use this knowledge to create their own samba performances. Each samba band competes in class to be chosen to perform in an assembly all about carnival. The preparations for this are well underway and year 7s are enjoying the chance to make loads of noise with the samba instruments.
